CUPERTINO, Calif. – June 15, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Don Frischmann, Symantec senior vice president, Worldwide Communications and Brand Management, will participate in a hearing entitled "Locking Your Cyber Front Door – The Challenges Facing Home Users and Small Business," for the United States House of Representatives. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at 2 p.m. ET in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. The Committee on Government Reform's Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and the Census will hold the hearing, chaired by Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Fla.
Frischmann's remarks will outline the responsibilities that individuals and small businesses have for protecting their portion of cyber space and how education and increasing the awareness about proper security steps aids the overall effort of protecting the Internet.
Frischmann is responsible for Symantec's global communications and brand management activities including public relations, customer and employee communications, investor relations, public affairs, and brand management.
