(Nasdaq: SYMC), today announced that Gary Sevounts, Symantec's senior director of power and utilities industry strategies and solutions, is presenting at the Homeland Security for Networked Industries (HSNI) Conference, taking place January 9-11 in Orlando, FL. HSNI provides an opportunity for participants to demonstrate product value and security expertise to executive level IT decision makers in utilities, telecommunication and transportation.
Sevounts' presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 3:00 pm and will provide utility companies with best practice recommendations on addressing security issues and regulatory concerns with a holistic approach focused on protecting critical infrastructure assets and facilities. The presentation, entitled “Effective Ways of Complying with NERC CIP Standards” will outline recommendations on assessment, testing and measurement procedures that must be considered when developing a robust security posture.
