Network World Asia Readers Choose VeriSign(R) Identity Protection as Best Identity Management Suite
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (Marketwire) - VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, today announced that readers of Network World Asia have selected VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) as the winner of a 2008 Readers' Choice Product Excellence Award in the Identity Management Suite category.
VeriSign Identity Protection received a Network World Asia Readers' Choice Product Excellence Award in ceremonies held last night in Singapore. Every year, NWA readers honor the most responsive, technologically-advanced IT vendors selling in the Asian market. More than 500 respondents cast votes for the "best technology vendors" across more than 20 product technology categories. Only invited senior technology directors and IT project heads in end-user organisations who subscribe to Network World Asia are eligible to cast a ballot in the annual competition.
"VeriSign is proud to see VIP recognized as the winner of the identity management suite category by the readers of Network World Asia," said Ed Elliff, Director of Identity and Authentication VeriSign Asia Pacific. "This recognition inspires us to continue to show our commitment to the region by offering a range of strong security solutions that help organisations protect their online business and their customers."
Based on open standards, the VIP Authentication Service is a two-factor authentication solution that enables a wide choice of credentials including standalone tokens, credit card sized devices and mobile phones. The VIP Authentication Service is deployed on a VeriSign hosted network, which means consumers can use a single security device to authenticate themselves across any VIP-enabled website. By leveraging a shared authentication network, VIP makes it simpler and more cost-effective for companies with an online presence to implement stronger authentication. Membership in the VIP Network helps organizations distribute the costs of strong authentication, thus accelerating its acceptance in the global marketplace.
"The Network World Asia Awards is designed to reward vendors for excellence in their respective fields," said Jonathan Bigelow, managing director, Questex Media. "Unlike other awards programs, the end-user organisations helped us pick our 2008 NWA Readers' Choice Product Excellence Awards winners. Their experience and a willingness to share has helped shape this list and enabled us to provide enterprise end users and decision makers with what their peers see as the best of breed solutions available to the Asia Pacific region."
