Vice President Consumer Marketing Europe
Michael Williamson joined Symantec in June 2011 as Vice-President Consumer Marketing for Symantec in Europe. Prior to working at Symantec, Michael was head of global marketing, customer acquisitions at Vodafone.
Williamson’s career spans 21 years in marketing and communications roles within the consumer electronics, telecommunications and technology industries. Williamson spent eight years at O2 UK in senior consumer marketing roles as a key figure leading the turnaround of O2’s pay-as-you-go business since it was spun out from BT Cellnet; growing market share position from fourth to first within four years. Prior to that, Williamson was marketing and strategy chief for consumer electronics company Casio, which was preceded by working for Compaq and Virgin while agency-side.
Having grown up in London, Williamson gained his MBA from London Business School and an MA in Marketing from Kingston Business School, along with a post-graduate diploma in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
