A Better RSA Conference

Assemble a hygiene kit for someone in need, send $100 to Year Up, and make a difference by visiting Symantec’s CR Corner

Symantec joins cyber security professionals from across the country at the 2019 RSA Conference today. This year’s conference theme, Better, means not only working hard to find better cyber security solutions, but remembering the fundamental reason why we’re here: to help ensure a more secure world so others can get on with the business of making it a better one.

Six Symantec employees will speak at the event, covering topics from compromised IoT devices and crypto mining to democratizing cloud security, and Symantec is again taking over Hotel Zetta for customer meetings. Our favorite part: the “Corporate Responsibility (CR) Corner”.

Three ways we’re supporting a Better conference:

  • Through a touchscreen overview of our CR program, customers learn more about Symantec’s Cyber Career Connection(Symantec C3) in our CR Corner. This cyber security education and job training program provides a pathway for underrepresented and under resourced young adults and veterans to fill in-demand cyber security jobs. We’re asking our customers to get involved and make a difference by hosting a Symantec C3 intern, hiring alumni, or advocating for the program.
  • We’re making a $100 donation to Year Up for each customer that goes through the touchscreen CR program experience. Year Up, one of our Symantec C3 non-profit educational partners, provides urban young adults with skills, experience, and support that enable them to move from minimum wage to meaningful careers in just one year.
  • Symantec employees will be assembling hygiene kits for St. Anthony’s. St. Anthony’s provides essential support, including meals, clothing, and addiction recovery counseling, to San Franciscans living in poverty. Our goal is to put together 1,000 hygiene kits on Monday night.

Each year we also bring all of our Symantec C3 students, those in the program enrolled at Year Up, NPower, and The Stride Center, to the RSA Conference. Attending the expo, visiting exhibitor booths, and listening to keynote sessions provides students with an opportunity to learn about the latest cyber security solutions and trends while making important career connections.

We hope you’ll visit our CR Corner at Hotel Zetta to learn more about how you can help us create a better, safer world.
