To use the Bv-config utility to manage your Master Query Engine across your firewall you will also have to open the NetBIOS ports
135-139 through the firewall.
To not use Bv-config utility then ports 135-139 are not required.
/When configuring MQE in DMZ .... do not change anything on your MQE (master query engines) not in the DMZ. It is not needed and will potentially cause issue. Modifying
only the MQE in the DMZ will not impact the rest of our query engines.
It is required to have one port opened bidirectionally in the firewall, like 5525 for the product to work in the DMZ.
In summary 5525 (or alternate) port is sufficient unless you will be using bv-config. If there is a plan on using bv-config then it requires ports 135-139 be open through the DMZ as well.
