Question
Client system has less than 500 MB disk space. How can I get a Software Delivery Package to install?

I see these two errors in the agent log:
  1. Cannot download the package, there is not enough space on the disk
  2. Error while downloading package: There is not enough space on the disk (-2147024784)

Answer
The Min Disk Free Space registry is set to 500 MB by default. This means that workstations with less than 500 MB available disk space will not be able to download any software package. It's recommended that the hard drive of such systems be upgraded so that there is additional Disk Space.

The Registry key that controls this is:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\Communications\Package Delivery\Min Disk Free Space."

This Registry key must be modified on each system where disk space is less than 500 MB, if it is required to install software. The reg key change takes affect immediately.

Warning: This configurable value should represent the needed disk space available to install software packages, such that the hard disk will not fill up when Software Packages are downloaded and installed. Altiris assumes no responsibility if value is set below 500 MB.
