How to enable reply XML logging and DPS logging for CCS 9.0.1

 


Solution



Go to this path on CCS 9.01 or 10 installed machine: C:\Program Files\Symantec\CCS\Reporting and Analytics\DPS

STOP the DPS service in services (Symantec Data Processing Service)

  1. Open Blade.WorkerProcess.exe.Config file and change “
    i) Under the “Logging” section find the value <add key="Log.EventLogger.Severity" value="None" /> and change it to <add key="Log.EventLogger.Severity" value="Verbose" />.
    ii) Under the “Logging” section find the value <add key="Log.Severity" value="Warning" /> and change it to <add key="Log.Severity" value="Verbose" />
  2. Open Symantec.CSM.DPS.exe.config file and change “
    i) Under the “Logging” section find the value <add key="Log.EventLogger.Severity" value="None" /> and change it to <add key="Log.EventLogger.Severity" value="Verbose" />.
    ii) Under the “Logging” section find the value <add key="Log.Severity" value="Warning" /> and change it to <add key="Log.Severity" value="Verbose" />

          After this Start the DPS service and execute data collection job.

          This will generate DPS logs,Workerprocess logs and Reply XML’s at following locations:

          Location of DPS and Worker process Logs :

          C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec.CSM\Logs\DPS\

          Location of Reply XML’s:

          C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec.CSM\Logs\DPS\DPS.Service_attachments
