Control Compliance Suite 8.60 Reporting and Analytics Disaster Recovery Guide


The Symantec Control Compliance Suite (CCS) is divided into two distinct pieces: CCS Data Collection Console and the CCS Reporting and Analytics modules.

The CCS Data Collection Console provides the mechanism to collect information from the targeted objects. The CCS Reporting and Analytics Console provides the ability to manage compliance by using the data collected in the CCS Data Collection Console to provide evidence for following policies, standards and managing entitlements. This document will provide guidelines for mitigating the risk of data loss as a result of an unexpected failure.

This document defines the components of CCS that are pertinent to disaster recovery. The documentation defines the set of key services, principles and frameworks that are used in support of this application/infrastructure area. The information provided in this document is intended to provide guidance and instruction that can be followed by individuals trained and knowledgeable in the specific technology to enable them to successfully support the application/infrastructure area to standards; consequently, the CCS disaster recovery procedure should be managed by a team familiar with not only the CCS hardware and application infrastructure, but also Clients best practices for organizational backup and restore procedures.

As is always the case with disaster recovery, it is important to review the procedures and output frequently and in a test environment so that any oversight in process, change as a result of product version change or exceptions to Client policy may be reviewed and mitigated with minimal impact to the production environment. Wherever possible, any procedure reviews (and production recoveries) should be conducted in conjunction with Symantec Global Technical Support Services so that the most current product and process knowledge is available to Client during the effort.
