Auto-Protect is Disabled on Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile Edition

Issue



Auto-Protect is disabled on SEPME 6.x. The option to Enable Auto-Protect is grayed-out and cannot be selected. How can this be overcome?


Cause



The trialware release of SEPME 6.x must be activated before the Auto-Protect or Anti-Spam features can be enabled and used.


Solution



This is working as designed. Click "Activate" to complete the necessary activation and enable Auto-Protect. The trialware version is valid for 60 days, after which time the product will no longer function.

Note that this only affects the trialware release of the product. The full, licensed version, when purchased, does not prompt for this activation in order to enable Auto-Protect.
