Technical Solution

Using PGP Command Line  --usp-server command for encryption or decryption of files over 1GB in size will generate error.

3090:operation failed, out of memory.

PGP Command Line 10.1.x, 10.2.x, 10.3.x.

There is file size limitation in the product that will not allow it to encrypt or decrypt files over 1GB when using --usp-server command for the operation.

Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a hotfix or Maintenance Pack in the current versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time. However, this particular issue is not currently scheduled for any release.
This issue can be temporarily resolved by adding key located on KMS to the local key ring. Encryption of large files located in local key ring will not cause this error as above limitation only appear for operations with keys obtained through USP (when --usp-server parameter is being used).

Supplemental Materials

With --usp-server parameter PGP Command Line loads whole input file in memory prior encryption.
