Symantec Endpoint Protection Client option for "Import Communications Settings" is grayed out

Issue



You are trying to convert a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client from unmanaged to managed. When navigating the client UI under Help -> Ttroubleshooting, you notice that the import button is grayed out, and that  you cannot import the settings through this method.


Cause



 This issue is caused by the logged on user having insufficient privileges. The logged on user must have administrator rights.


Solution



This issue can be resolved by logging on to the system with an account that has administrator rights. You should then be able to make the SEP client managed through this method.
