SQL backup failed with status 2

1.SQL 2008 R2 database(which is in Active-Passive cluster) backup is failing with the error code 2.
2.In the SQL server policy the SQL client name is the virtual SQL instance name.

Restricted permisions for the sevice account.
Give the SQL account that Netbackup client service is running as on the SQL server the sysadmin role and the backup will complete successfully.
