When attempting to connect a Symantec PcAnywhere thinhost launched within a LightsOut restore session or through a Symantec Recovery Disk the error listed below is generated and the PcAnywhere connection fails.


Error



The selected computer is not responding. Connection cannot be made.

 


Environment



Symantec Recovery Disk or LightsOut Restore option based upon version:

 -- Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 service pack 5 (9.0.5.45729) or newer.

 -- Symantec System Recovery service pack 3 (10.0.3.45857) or newer.


Cause



Change in the security requirements of the Symantec PcAnywhere version that is use within these newer builds on Symantec Recovery Disk or LightsOut Restore option as specified in their following software change notices:

Solution
