When setting up a shared credential for Microsoft SQL Databases in CCSVM, the test credentials fails.
'Authetication failed due to in valid credentials'
Microsoft SQL server service runs on a randomly generated port in 2005 and above. As a consequence CCSVM does not know which port the service is running on. CCSVM works this out during asset discovery part of a scan. This is not avaliable during the adding of credentials.
When using the test credentials function, make sure you know what port the MSSQL service is running on, on the system you wish to test the credentials against, and add it into the field.
