When attempting to protect the external drives with Symantec Encryption Desktop (formerly PGP Desktop) and avoiding user managed encryption/decryption process, you require external devices to remain locked (read-only).
This feature request would help to confirm if external drive may remain permanently locked for Encryption Desktop/PGP Desktop user.
This FMR would provide user an option to lock external device permanently instead of disk encryption and avoid additional prompts with request to finish disk encryption. As well it should provide auto-lock option in policy as an alternative to auto-encrypt option for WDE.
Microsoft Windows family systems
Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.x
PGP Desktop 10.2.x
