Recovery Point Set backups are failing with error shown below:
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\), (C:\), Data (E:\).
Error E7B70001: Win32/Win64 API DeviceIoControl(IOCTL_VSNAP_VDIFF_STOP) failed.
Error EBAB03F1: The device does not recognize the command. 0xE7B70001 (Symantec System Recovery)
Run Independent Recovery Point backup jobs
Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in earlier versions listed under the Product(s) Section of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.
There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.
