Issue

Running the Post backup script completes successfully, however, backup mode is still set.

Clearing backup mode from the Site level in the Vault Administration Console will clear it.

Error

No errors are logged

Cause

EV records a reference count in the database each time backup mode is set.  In this case, the Pre-backup mode script to set it was run multiple times.

For example: If Pre-Backupmode script is ran 3 times, the value of the "BackupModerefCount" will be 3.

In this example, to clear the backupmode from Vault stores, the Post backup script will need to be run 3 times. Each time post backup script is ran will decrement the value of "BackupModerefCount" by 1.

Solution

The immediate workaround is to clear backup mode from the Site level.

An alternative script can be used as seen below in the case this occurs again:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell -psconsolefile "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVShell.psc1" -command "&

{Clear-VaultStoreBackupMode -Name Sitename -EVServerName Alias of EVserver -EVObjectType Site -ForceClearBackupMode 1 -SuppressConfirm}"
