Workaround:

Revert the Backup Exec Administration Console to English, then change the Administrator's password.

  1. Log in to the appliance web UI.
  2. Navigate to the Settings > Appliance Reconfiguration > Language and TimeZone Configuration tab and select English as BackupExec’s language.
  3. Click Apply and Save. (Appliance will restart.)
  4. Now you can change Administrator password. Navigate to Settings > Appliance Reconfiguration > Security tab and set a new password for Administrator.
  5. To re-enable the Japanese language, execute the script (Enable-Japanese.ps1) on the remote desktop. Please check TECH209565 for more detailed procedure.
