Connection issues in Firewall/VPN environment

When connecting to a machine that is located behind a firewall, or when you are connecting through a restricted VPN, you receive a black screen or other connectivity issues.

This is caused by a restriction of some of the network communication.
In a secure environment, or when connecting to a machine behind a firewall, the following network ports must be open for full communication to take place:
* When you remotely control a machine, a random TCP port is chosen by Windows on the controlling machine to connect to port 1680 on the target machine. In a typical firewall configuration, outbound communication is not restricted which permits communication back to the controlling machine over this randomly chosen port. If a firewall has outbound communication restricted with specific outbound traffic exceptions, Carbon Copy communication is likely to fail.
