Hotfix for Enterprise Vault (EV) 8.0 For Microsoft Exchange Service Pack (SP) 1, Build 1560 - Vault Cache causing memory leak in Outlook.exe

Solution

What issues does this hotfix resolve?

A memory leak has been detected in the Vault Cache Trawler code (where items that are about to archived are copied into the Vault Cache store).
The leak can be seen when the trawler traverses a folder containing more than 500 items (approximately).
Each time the next batch of 500 items was requested the previous memory was not released correctly.

Every time the trawler runs on a daily basis this will be compounded.

The memory is released only on closing Outlook.

How to install this hotfixed client:

1. Close Microsoft Outlook if open.

2. Install the MSI file for your client machine.  This client can be installed over previous versions of the EV client.

To verify the updated client is installed:-

1. In Outlook click Help, About Enterprise Vault - the version should be 8.0.1.1565.0.

The download includes all supported languages.
