Symptoms
This document contains the release notes for Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition (SMS DOM-MPE) versions 3.2.1–3.2.7 in-line release builds. This document is written so that the most recent product builds are added to the beginning of the document.


 


Solution



Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.7

This release of Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition includes the following changes/enhancements:

  1. The English version of Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.7.35 has been certified on Domino Server 8.5 with all the existing supported platforms except AIX.
  2. Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.7.35 has been certified on Lotus Domino version 7.0.4 (English).



Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.6 (for iSeries/AS400 only)

This release of Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition (for iSeries/AS400 only) includes the following changes/enhancements:

  1. Certified on Lotus Domino version 8.0.2 (English).
  2. New component upgrades.
  3. SMSDOM templates have been converted from Standard to Advanced format so as to stop them from appearing unnecessarily during routine domino administrative tasks.



Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.5

This release of Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition (SMSDOM-MPE) includes the following changes/enhancements:

  1. Certified on Lotus Domino version 8.0.2 (English).
  2. New component upgrades.
  3. Now supports Deflate64 Zip container.
  4. SMSDOM templates have been converted from Standard to Advanced format so as to stop them from appearing unnecessarily during routine domino administrative tasks.



Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.4

Symptom: Certified platforms for Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition.
Solution: The English version of Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.4.30 Bundle has been certified on Domino Server 8.0.1 and Notes Client 8.0.1 for the following platforms (we support the versions mentioned below and the last prior major release):

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.0
    • SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
    • Solaris 10
    • AIX 6.1

Note: Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.4.30 Bundle is not certified on Windows and iSeries platform.


Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.3

Symptom: The installer shows a warning message saying that Domino versions greater than 7.0 are unsupported.
Resolution: Removed the warning message as the product is now certified for Domino 8.0.
User Interface: The warning message is removed from the installer.


Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.2

Symptom: Several defects were addressed in the Decomposer.
Solution: Upgraded Decomposer to the latest available version.

Symptom: Virus definitions shipped with the product were not up to date.
Solution: Updated virus definitions to the latest available.


Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform Edition 3.2.1

Symptom: Installation of SMS DOM-MPE following a Domino fixpack installation may fail with the error message: "Internal savdomino installer error 1."
Solution: When multiple instances of a Java class file are identified, a user-prompt shows to enter the name of the directory to be used for the SMS DOM-MPE installation
Messages: The message: "Internal savdomino installer error 1" is modified to print out the value of the failing class file path.
An additional error message is added to the class file prompt screen. The message: "Either no class file was found, or multiple instances of a class file were found."
The string "Current location:" is changed to "Current location(s):"

Symptom: The SMS DOM-MPE documentation does not describe the operating system and Domino version support policy.
Solution: New section on operating system support and Domino version support policy is added to SMS DOM-MPE documentation (see README.txt file).

Symptom: There is no support for content filtering during On-Demand and Scheduled scans.
Solution: Implement Notes.ini configuration parameters to enable or disable content filtering during On-Demand and Scheduled scans. Additional information is supplied in README file.
Symantec STRONGLY recommends testing of this feature using a content violation Action of Audit. This recommendation also applies when you add or enable new content filtering rules.

Symptom: The README file does not document the minimum version of Java supported by SMS DOM-MPE 3.2.
Solution: README file is updated with a new section: "Minimum supported version of Java."

Symptom: Scan error on some corrupt RAR files can result in generation of a false positive error: "Too many objects."
Solution: Upgraded Decomposer.

Symptom: When destination directory path is very long, the SMS DOM-MPE installation can fail with message: "There is not enough disk space available on the selected partition."
Solution: Updated the method for obtaining the destination partition size.
