How to integrate multiple Unix machines at a time during the registration process in bv-control for Unix?

Jan 20, 2012 12:29 PM

Solution:

Create a “CSV” file.

The correct syntax is:
machine_name_or_ip_address,machine_description,OS,OS Version,SSH Type,SSH port

Example:
machine_name_or_ip_address,machine_description,OS,OS Version,SSH Type,SSH port
mymachine.symantec.com,production,Solaris,5.10,2,22
UATmachine.symantec.com,UAT,Solaris,5.10,2,22
10.1.1.1,production,Solaris,5.10,2,22
(continue this format until all computers are included)

Note: Make sure that file format is saved as .csv once all the machines are included.

Thanks, Milan_T.

Can we do this in RMS console?

My unix machines are not even registered with my data collectors. I have RMS 10.5.

I was wondering whether there is any automated way to do that. I need to register about 150 new unix servers to the bv-control for Unix.

Is there any way to do a bulk asset registration to RMS?

Thanks,

Chaitali

Hi Chaitali,

After Creating CSV File do the following.

In CCS login to web console with Administrator Priviledge Account > Go to Settings > Registration > Registration > Browse > Upload CSV File.

Click on Begin Registration and it's done.

Can anyone please let me know the steps after creating the csv file?

It looks like CCS does not have any way to import the csv file contents which we create.
