Symantec's subscription service allows you to subscribe to knowledge base articles and receive email notifications when an article changes. You can also subscribe to proactive product alerts to be notified when any article is published to a specific channel in the knoweldge base, such as the Alerts channel.

There is some doubt on the SEP part with Vmware 6
We just have a mix of Clients on SEP 11.0.7 & 12.1.2015.
We are planning to upgrade the Vmware infrastructure from 5.5 to vSphere Esxi 6.
Symantec has mentioned that the support for Vmware 6 as
Supported VMware ESXi 6.0 (as of 12.1.6 MP5)
does this mean that they will not support VM clients on SEP 11.0.7 & 12.1.2015 hosted on Vmware 6?
Please help to solve this dilemma
My apologies, you are correct, you can subscribe to Alerts. But, you can not subscribe to channel updates (outside of product alerts) as listed in your post in regards to http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO31128. This HOWTO article should be updated with "you can only subscribe to alert channel updates".

If only this was 100% true. No offense Chetan, but this is not completely accurate. Ever since the site changed, you can no longer subscribe to product alerts, documentation or most other channels to receive proactive alerts, documentation, best practice, etc... articles. You CAN subscribe to single KB articles. But, for the most part, that is where it ends.
For instance, the 2nd section in HOWTO31128 details how to subscribe to a channel, but you are unable to in most cases. See below links. How can I subscribe to any of these channels?

None of these links allow you to subscribe to a channel. You can select individual articles and subscribe to them, but you will never know when Symantec posts a new Best Practice, Known Issue, Workaround, Patch, etc... unless you are already subscribed to the single article and Symantec updates that single article and does not create a new one.
