Thanks Jenna. I am interested in Data Loss Prevention and notice the nearest one is in San Francisco. Is that correct?

Hi Jenne,

When are we planning a usergroup meeting?  It has been a while since we arranged one.

Thanks,

Hello Stephanie & Ray,

Thank you for reaching out!

As of right now there is not a meeting planned for the Houston Endpoint Management User Group. I will reach out to the Advisory Board members of the group and work with them to get something on the calendar.

Thanks!
Jenna

We were just wondering the same thing a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know when the Houston Endpoint Management User Group meets next?  I can not find any current information for them.

Hi Ike,

For which User Group? We have them in most major cities in the US.

Jenna Cleaveland and Cheryl Peterson run the User Group program and will know when the next meeting is for your local User Group.

There is a list of the all the Endpoint Management User Groups here.
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/endpoint-management/groups

The information for upcoming meetings should be on your respective User Group page. If not, check with Jenna and Cheryl.

From my own experience, we create 4 kinds of members:
  • user
  • board member (only from "user" members)
  • partner
  • sponsor
Sponsors are:
- Symantec,
- and partners providing financial or material support to help user group activities.

Decisions in the group can be done from:
- presents: any people present (users & partners),
- users presents: any "user" in the meeting,
- companies: 1 voice per company, all the same 3 peoples same company in the meeting.
- Pondered companies: 1 voice per company multiplies the size (in terms of "computers to manage")
It is our "president" (you say Director :) choose the poll decision way. But honestly, it is currently allways the 1st one.

We are using a "board" shared google form & document spreadsheet for classified registration & polling for satisfaction survey or others.

I don't know others, but we are not creating any "legacy" registration this user group, because no financial "cash" management (no treasury)...
It would be nice if existing User group can talk in there,
  • what they do,
  • how,
  • if there are some "status" papers & rules they create,
  • can they deliver a sample in there ?
Well, creating a user group of user groups board ? ;-)

Hi Andy, thanks this Blog, one of the motivation the user group, is to discuss next change & evolution the softwares. Altiris part still use (if I am not wrong) the knowledge base. Partners can create a KB article & ask for Altiris Support to publish the "Feature Request". "feature request" Blogs could be a nice place to comment, explain, argue, such Feature Request, & for some "polling" also... I remember .peter were wondering to create such sort in "Connect". I think this can be one of the big value a User group can bring to Symantec. Good job & nice continuation.
