Abstract: The Symantec Management Platform uses role-based security, which means that user access is based on the user's security role. A security role is a set of privileges and permissions that is granted to all members of that role. The following steps will outline how to create the custom security role for Resource Managers. This will walk you through creating a Resource Manager role.
This Resource Manager role provides the necessary rights & privileges to manage the Computers within the console framework and Activity Center UI. This provides full access to the UI interface to view computer resources and the view the associated inventory data as well as the ability to perform a restricted set of functions to manage the asset including Remote Control, full Resource Manager access and full RTSM capabilities. This does not allow the ability or privilege to perform tasks or jobs against a resource.
This is a great document. What if you want to further secure the role by Computer OU? Have Resource Managers at each OU for large organizations.
If I select the "RESOURCES" to edit and select the OU and change the default to not allow all resources will this Role still work?
