PXE Menu - Natural Color

This BStrap.0 will change your Deployment Server 6.9.206 PXE Menu's background color to black and text color to grey to match the system boot process.

What it looks like.

To apply this PXE Menu...

  1. Make a backup of C:\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\PXE\MasterImages\BStrap\x86pc\BStrap.0
  2. Copy this file onto your Deployment Server as: C:\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\PXE\MasterImages\BStrap\x86pc\BStrap.0
  3. Copy this file to all your PXE Servers (including your Deployment Server if it is installed on the same machine) as: C:\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\PXE\Images\BStrap\x86pc\BStrap.0

If you have any PXE issues, please revert to your backed up copy of the BStrap.0 since this modified file is not supported.

Because this BStrap.0 has x64 support and the other enhancements that were added to PXE in 6.8 such as: "New modes of operation enable PXE servers to work across more diverse networks, and PXE Server can now service multiple NICs. See KB #27249: PXE Modes of Operation, and KB# 27250: Enabling PXE Server Multi-NIC Support."
If these features aren't important to you, then reverting to the 6.5 menu is a good alternative.

Why would I do that, when I can just change things back according to Altiris to Emulation mode:
Also you can default it back to the PXE Screen in 6.5
This KB article: http://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=27974&p=3 can help you revert your PXE Screen back to the way it looked in 6.5 if you are using 6.8.
This works great as well.
