The Ghost Solution Suite often requires the Windows Vista storage controller drivers for the Intel ICH9 and ICH10 SATA controllers for use in the Windows PE boot environemnt. The downloads from the Intel site, in addition to being difficult to locate, have incorrect instructions for extracting them without installing them in the ReadMe file. I have extracted these and created simple *.ZIP files of these drivers. They may be added to the Ghost Boot Wizard according to these directions: How to add drivers to DeployAnywhere or WinPE. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/on-technology.nsf/docid/2008050916132860 Affected machines include, at least, most Dell computers starting with Dell Optiplex 755 and later, in addition to those from other OEMs.
Thanks Randall! It is nice that their readme.txt files don't match what you actually need to do. I had to tinker with getting them extracted a bit for myself. Here are the command lines in this article in case anyone was wondering how to do it. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/adding-intel-matrix-drivers-your-xp-image-ahci-sata-support Note the link there is for XP, so don't use that link if you need the Vista drivers.
