SD.Bulkclosure For Servicedesk and Workflow 8.1

Aug 17, 2017 06:15 PM

The SD.Bulkclosure Project has been updated for Servicedesk and Workflow 8.1.  New UI, the ability to bulk close thru the use of a text file, and the ability to close any process and its related tasks are all a part of thise useful Servicedesk and Workflow utility.

A couple of configuration and installation notes:

1. Once you extract the package – open the file system for the project and go to the …Workflow\WorkflowProjects\SD.BulkClosure\resource folder and note there is a profile .pfl file there.

2. Open the Processmanager Portal, and go to Admin>Data>Application Properties, and import that pfl file.

3. You can use that Application Profile to edit the Incident Resolution Text that will be appended to the processes as they are closed.  You can also add other excluded result codes, on the same screen.

Enjoy!

Can you share a screenshot of the Process Manager Application Properties (redact any sensitive info)

resolution looks to have a spelling mistake.

if you find the component having the mapping error what properties can you map from instead?

I have extracted the project and then made sure the application properties had bulk selected.  After validating or publishing, I get mapping error.  How would I fix the mapping issue?  I have attached the screenshot of the mapping error.

Not working for me the 'Load from Processes File' link.

I have the file at the specific path, but it does not load anything.

Anybody knows if this link works for this version?

Thanks,

It’s better to use a lesser version, so the 7.5 listed above, there wasn’t much difference between 7.5 and 7.6, opening a higher version isn’t recommended.

Hi Everyone,

Will this project work in Service Desk 7.6?

Thanks, Nate

Hello,

When extracting project, I have the following error.

Any ideas? Workflow is in its latest version.

Alex, thank you so much, that was the issue.  Just had to tick Bulk Closure.  I was able to publish the workflow without issue, however now I am not seeing the Bulk Close option in the process manager anywhere.  In our 7.5.1 version there was an option for Bulk Close under Submit Request \ Admin Services however now I am not seeing this option anywhere in the portal.  Am I missing a config in the portal somewhere?

Thanks again, much appreciated.

In Workflow is Use Application Properties ticked?

Below that there should be a list of Properties, click Refresh in the top right.

Make sure 'BulkClosure' is ticked, then tick the Validate Project in the ribbon.

I've extracted the package as per instructions however in the Process Ticket model it is showing that there is a mapping issue. Under IM Processing the Mapping Definaition is missing ProfileProperties.bulk_closure_incident_resolution_text, in fact Bulk Closure is not being recognized as being there at all.  I do have it setup in Application Properties, but workflow is not seeign it.  Does anyone have a suggestion for this?  I have already been through several IISResets and have restarted the workflow server service.

Screen shots attached.

Thanks
