Speaker Profile: Dasha Deckwerth
Global Cyber Security Consultant/ CISO
Dasha Deckwerth has been a technology professional for over 20 years including 14 years of information security and assurance. She has led key cyber security initiatives within the government and civilian sectors where she has provided IT Security and Cyber Warfare services to NATO, various US, EU and Asian government agencies as well as multiple global commercial clients. She has designed and implemented security operations centers, incident response teams, delivered security consulting and regulatory compliance/ISO audits (in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia).
As a global Cybersecurity Consultant and vCISO she was in charge of setting up multiple CSIRTs across the globe a large IT Service Provider. She also built and managed all North and South American Cyber Security operations (managed services, consulting and system integration) with responsibility of $.6Bn P&L, serving over 200 Fortune 100 & 500 companies. During her career she led a 9 months Security & Risk Get Well Program for McGraw Hill Financial which included regulatory compliance, cyber security, vulnerability management and training. She also acted as Single Point of Contact for all Cyber Security issues during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Prior to that, she was the Disaster Recovery Manager for a government C4I system in the Middle East focusing on National Security protection. She also worked as the Security Office for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas during the opening and pre-opening phase, designing and implementing all cyber security related technologies and processes.
Deckwerth served in the US NAVY and attended TUI and Trident University where she obtained her MBA and MSc. in Information Technology and Management. She completed her PhD (ABD) in Cyber Warfare and National Security. She speaks several languages and has earned numerous qualifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Confidentiality Officer/Counter Espionage (COO), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), and NSA IAM/IEM (InfoSec Assessment and Evaluation Methodology).
