  • 1.  12/10/2010 update broke SEPM Virus Def Download

    Posted Jan 03, 2011 07:44 PM

Since the recent update on SEP - all virus defs do not download anymore -32 & 64bit.   Ran repair, followed KB on clearing out all d/l & defs and redo - nothing made a difference.  All other updates work - just Virus defs are stuck on 12/10/2010 date.   Force a download of the jbd  - put in inbox - it runs, but only item in new dated folder is the zip file NO unzipped data in a folder named FULL.  Not even the folder was created.

Was working fine prior, so this update broke it.   No erros on LU - all shows ok during the process.  I would rather not have to start over.   We have been holding off this upg. with all our clients on 10.x - now deciding move to 11 or bail to Eset Business.

Hope someone can throw a lifeline here.

How much space is on the C drive?

So the log shows nothing at all, not even failed downloads? There have been no other reports of this that I've heard.

You'll need to turn on the debug logs and post here

How to debug the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x

After running a repair from add/remove a few times, then a repair from the install with full DB reconfig - appears finally the virus def's came to the SEPM.   It took a few LU forced to get it - but it finally did.

great, it looks like permission and performance related issue.
