    Dear colleagues,

Kindly asking for the solution to small problem.

We have Symantec Bright Mail (SMG) which checks all the incoming emails then forwards those to internal Postfix-email server to receivers’ mailboxes. Sometimes, due to work-process, unnecessary mailboxes are removed. By this, Postfix on incoming email to deleted mailbox sends a Bounce answer: «550 5.1.1 <xxx@xxx.com>: recipient address rejected: user unknown in local recipient table | xxx@xxx.com»

This bounce mail is observed in SMG logs. There is thing that this email isn’t delivering back to sender.

At the same time the configuration is set to: «Protocols / SMTP / Invalid Recipients = Accept all recipients»

So, there is a question: is it possible that SMG blocks this kind of emails? If so - is there any solution?

    Thank you in advance

    Hi,

Take a look at recipient validation (administration, dir integration - any ldap directory can be accessed) and change the invalid recipients to ""

Just be sure to set the right cache size and ttl suitable for your company, user life cycles ...

    Regards
