    hello everyone,

i have one more issue according to acessing a system from web inerface (IE8).

    url is next: http://192.168.5.5:8443

    Question is next:

can i rename this url, and set like http://SEPM.ABC.COM?

from this management console, is there a possibility to install a certificate as well?

for the first question i would say No.

the second can be achieved by installing certificate in IIS for sepm

Configuring Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to work with the Symantec Endpoint Protection reporting functions on Windows Server 2003

While you can't "rename" the URL to the SEPM server you could create a DNS redirect on your DNS server if you have one.

The IP address you are trying to use is a non-routable. However, if you are NAT'ing into that address you can create an A record pointing to your external address to create the situation your are seeking. If you are inside of the network, then create an a record to the 192.168.5.5 address. Also, if you are creating an external A record make sure you open the port 8443 on the firewall and create an SSL for the encryption of your authentication.

why do u want to add it in a browser ? what r u trying to access? reporting component

    or webconsole.

for webconsole u can try this.

Logging on to reporting from a stand-alone Web browser
