    Hey there,

     

    Can anyone help with this issue?

    We have several dozen Macbooks running SEPC currently. One Macbook was wiped and had the OS re-installed and following that SEPC re-installed. On re-installing the SEPC client the user got to the "Activation Required" screen however on clicking the "Activate Now" button gets the following error:

     

    "Activation Error:  We're unable to process your request at this time contact your administrator for assistance (-22)".

     

    We've taken a number of steps to try and remediate including:

     

    First approach: We wiped SEPC off the device and tried a fresh install and no luck (same error).

    Second approach: Following this we removed the account via the web Admin console and also removed the previous SEPC install attempt. The user was added back in via the web Admin console and resent the email invite. They followed the whole process again of installing. Once again however they see the error from above.

    We've confirmed there isn't any firewall issues on the users end and prior to the re-install it was working OK.

    I'm having the same issue on my macbook pro running OSX 10.12.6.  After uninstalling SEPC and reinstalling via the "Enroll this device" link in the SEPC web interface, I get the same (-22) error reported above.   I also tried running the RemoveSymantecMacFiles script (found here https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH103489.html) after the uninstall, but I still get the (-22) error upon reinstall. 

    Are there any potential workarounds I could try?

    To fix this, try running the Norton Removal Tool, then check your downloads folder and remove any Symantec files present there, then start again.

    Faced the same problem. Worked after running the Norton Removal Tool!

    Tried to uninstall and re-install three times.  Same issue on a mac even after running norton removal tool.  Entered case with Symantec.

    Remove any norton files from the downloads folder as well.

    Use the Norton Removal Tool, then go into your downloads folder and remove any Symantec items there as well.

    Same activation error as the above.  We followed the above and still No Bueno.  Any other gems?

    Wait for the Mac client update tomorrow?  "the SEP Cloud client for Mac will be updated to version 8.1.2 to fix stability issues and make usability improvements."
