  • 1.  ADD information to computers details

    Hi I'm looking for how to complete details on the equipment (computers and servers) in Altiris 7.1
    For example:
    I want to implement the details of the support contracts on a server, model number, the serial of that team, etc..
    What I can do with Altiris 7.1? is this possible?

    This is part of Asset Management Suite.  Here is a video overview of AMS 7:

    Is this what you were looking to do?  This is separate from Client Management Suite (CMS) 7.1 but is part of ITMS 7.1

    To add the mentioned data to a server/computer, you only need CMDB Solution. You do not need the whole Asset Management Suite.

    CMDB Solution is now available for all Altiris customers. Read more and get the generic license for the CMDB Solution at the following URL:

    After you install CMDB Solution and add the license, you can add data to your servers/computers.

    To add data to a server/computer, do the following:

    1. In the Symantec Management Console, on the Manage menu, click Assets.
    2. In the left pane, expand Assets > Manage Configuration Items > Computers and Peripherals, and then click Computer.
    3. In the Computers list, right-click the item that you want to edit, and then click Edit.
    4. In the Edit configuration item window, enter the data that you want.
    5. Click OK
