  • 1.  Adding Preboot Drivers for PXE Boot??

    Posted Jan 25, 2018 12:23 PM

I'm not having any luck adding drivers to the Preboot database in order to get a new Dell E7480 to be able to boot into WinPE10.  The user guide does not mention anything about what files types need to be in the folder for the drivers to be added.  I have all proper Win10x64 drivers downloaded from Dell's website but am unsure which files are needed and need to be uploaded before I can recreated the Preboot environment.  Please advise.

    Hi JimPhreak,

The easiest method of trying the downloaded drivers is to boot the Dell E7480 Computer into winpe and then plugin a USB-Stick with the download drivers.
In WinPE type drvload with the Path to your .inf File on your USB-Stick. After the Driver is loaded type ipconfig can check if you get an IP Address.

To check the driveletter of your USB-Stick you can type diskpart -> list volume

After you have verified that the driver works you can add it to the Preboot environment and recreate it.

How does this help me load drivers into the Preboot database so they are available for any device that PXE boots to WinPE?

Settings > Drivers Database managment > Preboot

You only want to the network drivers in there so it can boot to pxe
