  • 1.  AeXagentUtil on OSX?

We just starting testing MACs at our company. I am a noob when it comes to OSX. Does AeXAgentUtil exist with the Mac version of the agent? I need to reset the guid on my test Mac Book Pro. For some reason it's sharing a record with a windows machine. Kinda funny trying to watch this Mac run all my windows policies.

Mac agent doesn't have such utility.

    Things  you can try:

    1. stop agent ( run sudo aex-helper agent stop from Terminal)

    2. Remove host.GUID file (/opt/altiris/notification/nsagent/etc/host.GUID)

    3. Start agent (sudo aex-helper agent start from Terminal)

That will force agent to re-request GUID from NS.

From my experience, the mac agent is nowhere near the Windows one in functionality. There is much work to be done in this part. Im not sure if you intend to use pcAnywhere but one little caveat we found was unlike Windows, the SMP only allows you to have one account for MAC pcAnywhere access. This might not be a huge problem for you, but in our enviorment its proved to be quite cumbersome giving out one username and password to our IT remote users staff.
