After installed IE7 communication issue with SEP & SEPM.

I have issue with communicating SEP and SEPM. Around 700 machines we installed IE7 viva windows update (WSUS). I notice after 1 weeks SEP clients showing offline in SEPM manager. But, when I check manually all clients are online and proper update. I am using SEP MR5 and SEPM MR5 v.
Why its happing like this I don’t know.

check the proxy settings as per this document
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2008100811312148
    try disabling IE enhanced security
check this on one client see if that works

Check for the registry entries in the client

    1. HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Internet settings Click on the internet setting key check for the keys called "ProxyEnable" if it is set to 1 then change it to 0 also check if there is a registry value called "GlobalUserOffline" if it is present change the value of the DWORD to 0
    2. Now expand Internet settings key and take a backup of the "Connections" key, Delete the entire key

    3. Check HKU\.Default\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Internet settings Click on the internet setting key check for the keys called "ProxyEnable" if it is set to 1 then change it to 0 also check if there is a registry value called "GlobalUserOffline" if it is present change the value of the DWORD to 0

    4. expand "Internet settings" key in the above said location and take a backup of the "Connections" key, Delete the entire key

    5. Reboot the machine.

check if you have windows firewall enabled on clients; if so disable it

Your clients are most likely updating via live update because they cannot communicate with the SEPM server.  Is this some or all of the clients?  Can you ping the SEPM from the affected clients?  Are the clients experiencing any other network issues?
