...using Cleanwipe and deploying it and designating it as a GUP, I receive the following error. This machine was a REAL problem when SAV was installed on it, the services always failed, and I was very anxious to upgrade this to SEP, but now I am encountering this. I am using 11 MRU 5 and I used Cleanwipe 5.0 to get rid of all of the old Symantec AV info...The shield is still showing communications with the server, but this has been a real issue. Thank you.

Try running SEP support tool..and check if it shows any error..
also check the DCOM permissions and make sure everything is set right.

DCOM, is all in order and it is still listed as Symantec Anti Virus, is that right? In The DCOM area? I do not see a friendly name of Symantec Endpoint protection anywhere listed.

It is as Symantec Antivirus, Smcgui, SAVMainUI and SAVUI

    Hi Bryan,

    Looks very strange to me

what else is installed on the server?

do you have the application dump file from when it crashes?

If so, I would open a call with support and lets get to the bottom of the problem.
