Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

Hello,

I am seeking information on designing, installing, and configuring an Altiris 7 solution for a POC to demonstrate the software distribution capabilities. I'm seeking information on core infrastructure design, pre-reqs, which components to install(not to install/aren't needed), etc.

I appreciate any guidance. Thanks in advance.

You will need to get up to speed on the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) otherwise known as the Notification Server (NS) (which underpins all the products and suites) along with the actual components.

I'd build a test system and get familar with the interface and options. A Windows 2003 VM with SQL 2005/2008 4 GB RAM would do. Specifically about the software distribution capabilities here are a couple of links:
