1. You said that you've tried to uninstall and then reinstall SIM 7.6.71?
If you are uninstalling SIM from "Add/*Remove programs", then its uninstall all installed products within ITMS and SIM as well.
Result:
Now after reinstalling SIM 7.6.71 back you don't see there any notifications that you have some updates to install, therefore you need to click "Install new products" and choose previously used (now uninstalled) Suite/Solutions for further installation.
2. I assume that you didn't have a connection to your SQL Server where "Symantec_CMDB" database is running, therefore you didn't see any notification about available HF or Upgrade.
Check what settings are set for your database, etc in SIM reg and make sure that your an access from this Windows Server to remote SQL Server and database.
3. If you are going to perform upgrade from 7.1.x version to 7.6, where:
- "Symantec_CMDB" database 7.1.x version is running on remote SQL Server
- You've installed SIM 7.6.71 on new clean Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 or Windows 2012 R2 x64 Server, wWhere isn't running SMP 7..x version.
Result:
When you're installing a SIM on clean Windows Server and going to perform an upgrade from 7.1.x to 7.6 version, then after opening SIM, it doesn't show information that you have some upgrade/hotfixes to be installed and you need to:
- Click "Install New Products" -> choose appropriate Suite/Solutions
- Proceed to step where to set credentials for IIS Web Site in SIM
- Proceed to SQL Server settings page in SIM -> browse your remote SQL Server, where "Symantec_CMDB" 7.1.x version is running and set correct credetials -> begin installation
After that it will determine this remote 7.1.x database and will perform upgrade.
