    Hello everyone,

Would you please advise on what Altiris client SMA services/processes should be up and running, correctly set to automatic/manaul or disabled, please. I see AeXagentSrvHost service, Altiris Monitor Agent servcie, AltirisAgentProvider service, etc., but do not quite sure what they are and which one should be automatic, or manual, or disabled, etc.

Thanks very much for your times and help,

    Charlie Tran

    Hi!

What is a purpose of this information?

    1. You always can perform clean installation of all required Agent(s)/Plug-ins and then open "Services" on managed computer, to see what is the default "Startup type" of each Agent service.
    2. Also you can see dependencies of service(s), when on startup it will startup depended process.

    Thanks,

    IP.

    Hello IP,

Some of windows admin in my branch have asked me what are those servies are and for, which one should be manual/auto/enabled/disabled? I told the same that when I pushed SMS Altiris client SMA agents out to newly built VM/servers, they are pre-defined in global target client package. But I do not quite sure what they are and their service status/states. I really want to learn and if there is any doc detail them.

We also plan to baseline SMS altiris client SMA agent to server build templates. Its space, CPU, and memory requirements would need to be planned ahead for every single piece of third party software/plug-ins in the baseline.

    Thank you,

    Charlie.
