  • 1.  AntiVirus and Antispyware Protection definitions are out of date

    Hi
My SEP informs me that the definitions are out of date, even though the Liveupdate succeeds in retriving the definitions. Any suggestions?

I'm running the SEP 11.0.2000.1567 on a Vista.

I tried following this thread https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/antivirus-and-antispyware-protection-definitions-are-out-date but I do not have the same file structure as described in the solution, other than that it seems to be the same the same problem!

Since this is an old version and a lot of fixes are present in new versions you may also consider the upgradation to RU5(latest available version) also..

where do I find the license key? When I originally installed the product, it was from a disc provided by my work and in I never punched in a license key. And afterwards I had to return the disc :-(

A for fixing the cache manually, I did not succeed :-(

You probably need to get with your IT guys and get the new version, especially if your machine is managed by a SEPM

In the short term you should be able to download the intelligent updater and get your machine updated.

License number is available on license paper which you will get from your reseller after the purchase. If its not available you can contact you reseller or Symatnec technical support and give your customer ID. They will provide the License number.
