  • 1.  Antivirus and Antispyware Protection definitions are out of date.

I have a single managed SEP client which is not updating its definitions.  The SEP console on the client in question shows the large yellow Fix button.  Clicking this button will kick off a LiveUpdate (according to the System event log).  The LiveUpdate log also shows a successful completion of LiveUpdate.  However, the error message remains.

I've tried clearing the LiveUpdate cache to no avail.  I'm not sure what else I can do.

    Anyone got any advice?

    Thanks,

    Hmm,

Sorry for the broken image.  Let me know if you think it's essential that I repost it.

    Thanks,

it can be due to corrupt definitions on this client
    Stop SMC server  (smc -stop)
Delete The dated folders abd temp folders in progra files\Common files\Virusdefs
    doc 7 set..\all users\app. data\syamntec\liveupdate\downloads
Delete all the contents of the download folder.

Download and update this client using Rapid Release then it should retrive the deifintions automatically.
    ftp://ftp.symantec.com/AVDEFS/symantec_antivirus_corp/rapidrelease/

    and download
    symrapidreleasedefsi32.exe
