Actually this is a cosmetic issue. If SEP clients runnLive Update directly will receive content showing the current date (i.e. January 10th, 2010). Clients receiving their definitions from a SEPM will continue to show the backdated date 12/31/09 until patches for the SEPM are released and applied. , and will only increase the revision number of the definition.
Latest defintion is December 31, 2009 was “12/31/2009 rev. 121” version. The next certified definitions to be published will have a revision number greater than 121
.
