  • 1.  APS15-018 - Adobe Flash Vulnerability

    Hi

    Does Symantec have a blog or any social media outlet that announces when patches are due to be made available via CMS Patch Management?

    We are patiently waiting for APS15-018 to patch the Critical Vulnerability in Flash player (and the equivalent Chrome update), but so far it is not avialable via the patch management import.  I am under pressure to get this patch out, but I cannot even give my management a estimate of when it may be available.

    This is something I would be very interested in as well, if it does not already exist. I understand there's work/testing involved in getting a patch ready for Altiris, but even just a "New patches are available" email or something would be nice.

    As Flash 18.0.0.209 was released yesterday I'd expect it to hit the Patch catalog tomorrow.

    Also, there is an Automation Policy that can be configured to send an email when new Bulletins are imported into the Patch Catalog.  Manage > Automation Policies > "New Software Bulletin Available"

    Thanks HighTower,  I had the "New Software Bulletin Available" automation policy enabled, but for some reason the SQL code was wrong and it was failing.  All fixed now, and patch deployed!

    You may also review HOWTO32527 for Microsoft & HOWTO32549 for Adobe in Patch Management Solution 7.0.x.
