Are you using DLP to find sensitive information in repositories?

  • 1.  Are you using DLP to find sensitive information in repositories?

    We have primarily used DLP to protect data in motion, but we are looking to expand by using DLP to find data at rest, specifically on SharePoint and LAN repositories. Do others use DLP for this purpose? Has it been helpful? Any thoughts you can share would be appreciated.

    Hello Connie,

     

    We have used DLP for Data in Motion and Data at Rest, specifically our global shared drives (available to all employees) and now SharePoint.

    The global shared drive scans have been going on quarterly for over 3 years and have been VERY helpful securing potential confidential information.

    If this is a direction you ultimately end up going, I would be willing to discuss tips, best practices, etc.
