    Hi There,

I just wanted to share my findings for anyone experiencing this issue.

The as_ste.exe service started to use intermittently 100% of the CPU for long period of time in our SWS 7.5 Backend server about a month ago. Support recommended to Upgrade from 7.5 to 7.5 SP1 HF5 since many issues have been resolved between those versions. The upgrade went smoothly; however, the problem persisted.

Today the issue got worst preventing users to stream any applications. After further researching and comparing it to another backend server we have, I noticed the as_ste.exe service had over 600 threads, and the associated handles (found in the CPU tab of Windows Resource Monitoring) were refering to hundreds if not thousands of event mesagges located on the "\Workspace Streaming\Server\streamletEngine\da\data" folder.

I took a look at the folder mentioned above, and I found 7,500 event messages. I moved them, and restarted the as_ste.exe service, and the problem was resolved.

So if you are experiencing this issue, make sure you to check out the "\Workspace Streaming\Server\streamletEngine\da\data" folder, move out everything you find in there to a temp location (just in case), and restart the service. This should take care of this problem as it did for me.

    Thanks,
