  • 1.  Authorizing report use within Altiris Patch Management 7.0

    I am running version 7 of Altiris Patch Management.  I have set up patch administrators to patch with filters.  I am having trouble getting the report function to work on the Notification Server.  I can grant access to use the reports.  When the users input their specific filters that they have access to, the results are blank.  I have been through the security permissions several times and I cannot figure out what I am missing.

    In short:

    *  User has access to specific filters with his/her workstations in the filters that he/she is responsible for managing patches.

    *  User has access to all reports.

    When the patch admin tries to put his/her own filter into a report then the results come back with no data.  I guess it is an authority problem but I cannot figure out what I am missing within the permissions.

    Please provide a version of installed Patch management solution.
    Can you write your steps to reproduce this issue?


    Correct way to provide security permissions for some role will be a clone of exist Patch management Administrators role and restrict permissions only for filters and reports.

    Other way to use PM Rollout security role. This role provide to view reports, filters and disribute SWU policies. You can remove security privilege to 'Distribute Software Update' and this option to distribute SWU policies will be hidden for this role.
