I'm using SEPM mr4. Is it possible to configure USB scanning each time a USB  memo stick is inserted into to server/workstations??

    What is the procedure??

    Hi,

USB scanning in this manner is unfortunately not currently a function of SEP 11.0.  Autoprotect covers the scanning and quarantine of a potential threat,
if the threat tries to launch from the USB drive.  In addition to this, once the drive is connected, and assigned a drive identifier, a scan can be run on the USB drive.

You can submit an enhancement request as a function of a future build if you like...www.symantec.com/feedback/

If it will start a scan each time you put a usb device then it will downgrade the system performance .Autoprotect is enough for protection .iF you need to scan then do it manually.

USB scanning is not possible with SEP and I think this is the drawback of SEP. Instead of it you can run manual scanning, but Autoprotect running at the background stops spreading viruses at the time of opening of files from the pen drive.

Auto protect option is there which takees care of it.
Automatically USB scanning is not available currently, the reason may be data transfer rate of USB to PC is very slow & depends on USB version as compair to internal hard disc.
Thats why it is not implementing.
    It will be time consuming.
